A female patient at the age of 9 is diagnosed with a superior left incisor retention following a traumatic injury to the incisor region at the age of 2.
After orthopedic expansion of the palate, due to the concomitant contraction of the transverse diameters of the upper jaw, an orthodontic connection of the included incisor and an arched realignment was performed.
In times of traumatic teeth incarceration, the intervention timeline is critical which must take
into account the physiological times of teeth falling out and coming in.
